This week we have really seen our bean seeds growing! We planted them when we were studying Jack and the Bean Stalk! The children have noticed that first roots have grown, followed by green shoots and some of the seeds have already grown a stem and small leaves!!!
‘Healthy Me’ is the focus topic in PSED this half term and the children have been thinking about which foods make us healthy and which foods should be thought of as a treat. We have been identifying different fruits and vegetables and classifying them. The highlight of our week was making a fruit kebab, they were yummy ☺
We started the week by introducing our new focus book, Supertato. This character will help us with being healthy, recognising and tasting different fruits and vegetables, as well as with our Maths, as we are learning about positional language. We have all made a Supertato, dressing our potato in its own outfit!
In Nursery this week we have been looking at stories from different countries, talking about the different seasons and recapping identifying parts of a map. The weather this week helped with discussions of what a winter tree looks like. We also spent some time in our mud kitchen, where the children made a wonderful chocolate soup for me!
