As we have now entered, Year 6 have begun reading St John’s account of Holy Week as part of their RE this half-term. Before they began exploring it, however, they took some time to discuss their own and other beliefs about this time of year and Jesus’ story. They built on the Oracy work they have been doing this year, managing discussions on the symbolism and consequences of Jesus’s arrest, death and resurrection.

Elsewhere this week:
- In English, we have started working on Spiderwick’s Field Guide and exploring its various creatures. The children have written a blog in character as a boggart terrorising the classroom as well as a formal letter of concern to Ms Hackett warning of a potential changeling among theri class. We eagerly await her reply.
- In Maths, we have been finishing our work on transformations, exploring reflection on coordinate grids. We have also begun working on ratio.
- We have started our new History topic of World War 2, exploring the various alliances in Europe at the time and the main causes of the conflict.
