17.9 Year 5 Gardening with Miss Sophia
A Busy & Brilliant Start to September in Year 5!
It is hard to believe we are past the halfway mark of September! Year 5 has made a fantastic start to the new academic year. The children have thrown themselves into their learning across every subject.
In history, we have stepped back in time to explore Ancient Greece. This links brilliantly with our English lessons, where we are diving into Greek quest myths. In maths, we have been sharpening our skills with place value and negative numbers. Our young scientists have also been testing gravity through hands-on experiments.
Beyond the classroom, we enjoyed a brilliant outdoor session with Miss Sophia. The children rolled up their sleeves to tidy the grounds by litter picking, watering and deadheading plants. We even harvested our very own courgettes, marrows, carrots and poppy seeds!
It has been an excellent start to a very busy half term!
