A wonderful start to the summer term
24.04.24 Year 2
What a fantastic start to the new term we’ve had! The first two weeks back have been filled with excitement and learning. In English, we’ve dived into our new topic on non-chronological reports, focusing on sharks. The children have been exploring the unique features of these fascinating creatures and are busy crafting their own informative pieces. It’s wonderful to see their creativity and enthusiasm shine through!
In our RE lessons, we’ve begun our journey with “To The Ends of the Earth,” delving into the stories of the Ascension and Pentecost. The children are doing a brilliant job of sequencing the events and discussing the emotions the disciples experienced. Their insights are truly heartwarming.
Maths has been buzzing with activity as we’ve tackled multiplying and dividing, and the children are making great progress.
In science, we’ve started growing plants, which has sparked curiosity and excitement among the students.
A highlight of our fortnight was welcoming Jodie Williams, the bronze medal winner from the Paris Olympics. She shared her inspiring journey, emphasising the values of determination, unity, friendship, and faith. The children participated in Jodie’s fitness circuit with such enthusiasm and energy. It was a wonderful afternoon that truly motivated everyone!
