Green Day 2026
On Wednesday 20th May, pupils and staff across the school came together to celebrate Green Day,a special day dedicated to promoting sustainability, connecting with nature, and inspiring our pupils to become true guardians of the environment. It is rooted in our Catholic Social Teaching value of Caring for God’s Creation, as well as Pope Francis’s encyclical Laudato Si’.
Throughout the day, classes took part in a range of activities linked to sustainability and environmental awareness. Pupils explored important topics such as caring for wildlife, conserving resources and making environmentally friendly choices in their everyday lives.
One of the highlights of the day was gathering together on Lower Site as a whole school community. Pupils enthusiastically sang two Green Day songs, creating a wonderful atmosphere and reminding us all of the importance of working together to care for the environment.
Following the singing, our Eco Warriors spoke confidently to the school about why it is important to protect the planet. They shared key messages about sustainability and encouraged everyone to think about the positive actions they can take both at school and at home.
Green Day was a fantastic opportunity for pupils to reflect on how even small actions can make a big difference. Thank you to all the staff, parent volunteers and children who helped make the day such a success. Together, we can continue to make positive choices for our school, our community and our planet!
