Living Out Our Faith: Year 1 Visit The Orchard Care Home

Putting Catholic Social Teaching into action, our Year 1 children recently had the wonderful opportunity to visit the residents of The Orchard Care Home for a special Act of Worship, celebrating the 800-year legacy of Saint Francis of Assisi.

Accompanied by our guest of honour, Bishop Paul, who shared his praise and blessings, the children beautifully retold the life of St Francis through prayer and uplifting hymns. Together, they shared the essential message that we are all part of one global family called to love and care for God’s creation.

The spirit of community and fellowship extended into a collaborative artwork where the children added handmade birds to a beautiful St Francis tree created by the residents, symbolizing unity, growth, and care across generations.

The visit left a lasting impression on everyone involved. The Customer Relationship Manager at The Orchard, shared how much the residents enjoyed the afternoon, remarking that they haven't stopped talking about the children, their wonderful behaviour, and the peaceful service.

We are so proud of Year 1 for bringing joy, companionship, and the light of Christ to our wider community, demonstrating how we live out our faith through love and service to others!
