Love, Community, and Green Day Fun!

This week in Reception, we continued exploring how Jesus wants our church to be like a family—loving, welcoming, and caring for everyone. We read A Handful of Buttons, which helped the children understand that while families come in all shapes and sizes, love is what holds them together.

We also looked at our school Mission Statement, practicing the actions that go with it. The children beautifully recognised how it brings us together as a community with Jesus at the centre. When asked where they see this in school, they shared wonderful ideas, noticing everyday moments of kindness, teamwork, and belonging. We linked this to the Early Church, reflecting on how we can follow the example of Jesus’ friends in our classroom.

Eco-Friendly Celebrations

Alongside our reflections, we celebrated Green Day in our houses! The children had a fantastic time completing various eco-activities, including making bird feeders and practicing teamwork through water-transferring games.

We hope you all have a wonderful, restful half term. Thank you so much for your ongoing support
