The Start of Term in Year 2
The children all settled into Year 2 really well after the Summer Holiday and have done lots of lovely work already!
The first few days were spent remembering all about our 'House Saints', school prayer, Mission Statement, Values and 'Golden Rules'. The children worked well to organise a 'Child led Celebration of the Word' with the theme of helping others.
In English we read the story of 'Paddington Bear', who visited London and in Geography we learnt to find London on different maps.
On Thursday 10th September, Year 2 were lucky to go on a school trip into London, to visit 'Buckingham Palace' and 'The Royal Mews'. The children behaved beautifully and really enjoyed seeing horses, carriages and the thrones used by different kings and queens. Thank you to all of the parents who kindly volunteered to accompany us on this lovely trip - your support was much appreciated!
After the trip to London, the children wrote postcards to Mrs Bates, Mrs Hackett or to family members to tell them all about the exciting day out.
