Year 1 - Act of Worship & International Day
Year 1 had a wonderful opportunity to celebrate 800 years since Saint Francis of Assisi died with the residents of the Orchard Care Home.
Bishop Paul was the honourable guest and he was full of praise and blessings after the Act of Worship. The children retold the life of St. Francis and sung beautiful hymns, sharing the message that we are one big family who needs to look after our wonderful world.
At SSAS, we have been exploring Refugee Week. We have been thinking how we would feel if we suddenly had to leave our home and family. We have been studying The Suitcase, in which a creature has to leave home and travel to somewhere new. The creature finds new friends and hope.
We have been celebrating International Day. The children expressed themselves using pointillism, creating a picture using dots. It was lovely to see all the children coming into school in their traditional dress. We hope you enjoy the celebrations at the SSAS International Day Fair.
Wishing all our families a very happy weekend and we look forward to seeing you all next week.
