Year 6 - Day 2 in Little Canada
Despite a grey start to the day, the children were up bright and early. Everyone managed to sleep and resist the temptation to stay up late playing games with their friends! After a hearty breakfast (bacon, hash browns, beans, cereals and more), the children got ready for the day.
The morning sessions were filled with activities such as abseiling, laser tag and the Vertical Challenge which everyone had a go at - even if it looked a bit scary! We are really proud of how the children help and support each other and it’s great to see them cheering each other on.
After lunch (spaghetti bolognaise or ratatouille with garlic bread and salad) it was time for everyone to get ready for kayaking. Wetsuits were squeezed into, paddles and safety equipment collected, and everyone headed down to the beach. The sun greeted us and it was a beautiful afternoon. According to the instructors, the waves were a bit higher than usual and yet in spite of this they reported that the children did amazingly well.
Following a welcome hot shower and another delicious meal (macaroni and cheese or breaded chicken and rice with curry sauce plus a brownie), the children are now outside taking part in the “PGL Sports”. Let’s hope the weather is just as kind to us tomorrow!
