Year 6’s First Night on the Isle of Wight
What a fantastic first day on the Isle of Wight!
After wiping the sleep from our eyes, we departed on the coach to Southampton and had a pleasant journey to Southampton to catch the ferry across to the Isle of Wight. The children enjoyed the beautiful ferry sea views as they ate their snack, then, after departing, we had a short onward journey to our accommodation.
Once we arrived, we settled into our en-suite log cabins before getting stuck straight into our first activities. The children tackled a fantastic range of challenges, including Tag Archery and Climbing, while others took on the heights of Jacob's Ladder and worked together during Problem Solving activities. There were plenty of opportunities to challenge ourselves, support our teammates and, of course, have lots of fun!
After such a busy afternoon, we were certainly ready for dinner! We enjoyed a delicious meal with a wide array of options at the salad bar, and a glass of flavoured fizzy water. We then rounded off our first day with a (not so) silent disco!
It has been a brilliant start to our residential, and we are incredibly proud of the children's enthusiasm, teamwork and behaviour.
Now we're hoping for a good night's sleep so that we're ready and raring to go for a full day of activities tomorrow! 🌟
