Last Friday, we brought the world to our playground on Saturday with our vibrant International Day Fair themed “All Are Welcome.”
The event was a joyful celebration of the school’s rich diversity, featuring cultural performances, global cuisine, and traditional dress from around the world. Families, staff, and pupils united to honour the many nationalities and backgrounds represented in the school community, reflecting a shared message of inclusion and belonging. Many countries were represented, including Spain, Mexico, Guatemala, Colombia, Greece, Poland, Syria, Japan, China, India, Italy, Lithuania, Australia, New Zealand, Nigeria and Ireland. The street dance troupe performed with energy, and Mrs Flatt led the choir in a range of beautiful songs sung in other languages. The fair was the climax of a year spent working on the theme ‘All are Welcome’, designed to build awareness that our strength as a community lies in our diversity. It also came at the end of Refugee Awareness Week, where visiting speakers had told us about being welcomed as refugees to Britain. Mr Miller and Miss Campion also visited to give us an update on our fundraising appeal for Bright English Medium School in Tanzania.
In this Jubilee Year, this amazing and very special event reminds us that we are all unique and different, yet we are united together in faith and friendship as part of God’s global family.
Thank you to our P.T.A. and to all the incredible parents and friends who organised the fair and the different stalls from around the world.
