Year 3 Celebrate Inspirational Black Figures
In Year 3, as part of our learning about inspirational Black figures, we learned about the life of the famous British writer and poet Benjamin Zephaniah. We discovered that, despite being dyslexic and leaving school at the age of 13 unable to read or write, he overcame these challenges through determination and creativity. Benjamin used his love of words, rhythm, and storytelling to connect with others and to share powerful messages about equality, kindness, and justice.
The children then read fact files about his life and created their own to showcase what they had learned.
Have a lovely Half Term Holiday!
