This week the music in Y6 has been inspired by STOMP which uses all sorts of household objects as percussion instruments, including basketballs. We’ve been creating rhythms in a Ternary structure which is a musical form consisting of three distinct sections with an ABA pattern. We have also learnt a routine to Tchaikovsky’s Russian Dance. Once we’ve perfected it, we will post a video so you can see! Until then, here are some videos of the children composing interesting rhythm using the basketballs.
