Battling winds and rain, Year 6 boarded “dragon boats” this morning to find out which team could work together and beat the other boats in a race. The staff at PGL keep a close eye on the weather and due to the wind, the jetty manager decided to keep the boats tethered to the jetty. You can see in the video IMG_1922
that this did not take anything away from the experience of working together in a team and seeing what happens when we do. Later in the day the children took part in a sensory walk (walking blindfolded and guiding each other), aeroball, the giant swing and more besides.
Enough of my summary, however. Let me leave you with a few quotes from the children themselves.
Ondine: “We don’t play together at school but we worked together really well on the sensory trail.”
Leyla: “Food is much better than school food.”
Jack M: “I think it’s great because we get to know each other more.”
Skylah: “Even if people do miss their parents, you do so many activities it distracts you.”
Ollie: “I liked the sensory trail. It was actually quite fun good doing teamwork.”
