One of the activities we have been doing is role play to enhance the children’s learning both in English and in R.E. In RE we freeze framed parts of the story the ‘Stone Age Boy’ written by Satoshi Kitamura. The children portrayed the meeting of the main characters, a modern-day boy with a Stone Age girl called Om, whom he encounters when he travels back in time. In R.E. we have been learning about the seven themes of Catholic Social Teaching. The children brilliantly acted out scenarios that showed how to aspire to the principles of Catholic Social Teaching.
