The children really enjoyed playing with toy cars this week as part of our science investigation into friction. We used various ramps covered in different materials to see how quickly or how slowly a toy car would run down them. If the surface was rough like carpet it produced a lot of friction and the car either stood still or travelled very slowly down the ramp. If the surface was smooth the toy car travelled quickly down the ramp.
We also had a very creative R.E. lesson where we used the Advent carol ‘Angels We Have Heard on High’ as an inspiration for our creativity. We did a carousel session where we thought of music, poetry and art that the carol’s lyrics inspired us to create.
