Basketball Tournament
Some of our Year 6 students took part in the Herts School Tournament last Thursday at Oaklands College.
The main rule of the competition was that the girls played the first half of each game and the boys played the second half, with the two scores combined to determine the final result. All five of our matches were highly competitive, and the girls performed exceptionally well—only losing one half throughout the tournament. Impressively, they also defeated the overall winners, Skyswood School.
Well done to our amazing team for their fantastic effort and teamwork!
Girls Football Cup Match v Camp
For anyone who made the short journey to Camp School for the cup tie on Thursday evening, it was well worth the trip—everyone went home with a spring in their step after the girls won the game via a dramatic penalty shoot-out.
MG opened the scoring early, showing great speed and clinical finishing. Fair play to the opposition, who soon settled into the game and hit back with two goals before half-time.
They started the second half just as strongly, adding another goal to leave us 3–1 down and facing an uphill battle.
But the whole squad showed fantastic determination and resilience. Their efforts paid off when MT finished clinically with six minutes to go, making it 3–2. The girls kept pushing with a never-say-die attitude, and there was huge delight when MT struck again with just one minute left on the clock.
As the light faded, the excitement was unbelievable. SS, who had already made several wonderful saves during the match, became the hero of the shoot-out by saving two of the opposition’s penalties. Our penalty takers were impeccable, securing our place in the quarter-finals.
MG was voted Player of the Match by the opposition.

Well done to all the girls who played!
