After an exciting start to the week, courtesy of Pause to Play and Newsround, we got to flex our creative muscles. In Maths we set the children a problem to work on, which would use their multiplications and division knowledge.
The children worked alone or with partners; they were able to explore how they would best answer the question, using white boards and equipment. We were very impressed with their strategies.
How would you answer it?
There are 21 wheels in the bike shed. There are a mix of tricycles and go-karts. Can you find all possible combinations of vehicles?
In Art, we explored manga which links to our topic on Japan. The children were very excited to explore the genre, creating characters with a range of emotions and comic strips.
We will be producing our own versions of Hokusai’s “The Great Wave”. We even made our own tsunami here in school! Check out the newsletter for more.
