There was a wonderful sense of excitement among the children of St Teresa’s House this week as we came together to celebrate her feast day. St Teresa continues to inspire us with her unwavering commitment to faith and unity—core values that we uphold in our school community. Her life, devoted to serving the poor and vulnerable regardless of race or religion, serves as a powerful example for us all.
Our Chaplaincy Team, alongside other members of St Teresa’s House, led a beautiful liturgy filled with heartfelt readings and prayers. During his homily, Father Michael reflected on St Teresa’s selfless life of service and encouraged us to consider how we, too, can live out her legacy through our words and actions—both at home and in school.
Wearing our house colour, yellow, we wrote pledges and created drawings on yellow heart-shaped cards, expressing ways we could serve others. The ideas shared were truly inspiring, with suggestions such as “donating part of my pocket money to charity” and “helping elderly neighbours.”
After the liturgy, we enjoyed a sunny afternoon in the playground with delicious ice lollies and an extra playtime. What a special time together spent honouring the life and legacy of St Teresa!
