Wow, what a wonderful, warm week!
This week is known in the school calendar as Refugee Week.
We studied the book All Are Welcome and then on Wednesday, we had the great privilege of meeting a refugee who has sort sanctuary in this country.
We thought it would be so difficult to leave your home and family and live in an unfamiliar country. It was very insightful to learn how he coped with being imprisoned and escaping to the UK all alone. There will be a collection for the charity for clothes; a link will be emailed to parents/carers.
Every year group created a celebratory, collaborative piece of Art. The children worked so hard using pointillism (using their finger tips to paint) to create a globe.
We think you will agree the final outcome was very impressive. The Art work is displayed in the Upper Site Hall. The children also produced individual posters letting people know that we welcome everyone. Do take the time to view the art work when you attend the PTA Fayre after school today.
The children looked absolutely fantastic today, dressed in their cultural outfits.
To end this special blog this week, we say a big congratulations to Fr Michael for his 25th anniversary of being a priest.
The children in Year 1 made a special card for him, all of them drawing a portrait of Fr Michael. Thank you Fr Michael for all your teaching and guidance.
