Year 1 have been very busy starting their new topics this week, as well as completing lots of assessments.
In English, we have started our unit on alternative fairy tales. We took the opportunity to read lots of different fairy tales this week and we chose our favourite story.
The children have really enjoyed Little Red and the Very Hungry Lion.
We have also completed Phonics assessments. This is in preparation for the Phonic Screening Test later this month.
In Maths, we challenged ourselves to order two-digit numbers from smallest to largest, then we ordered them largest to smallest.
The children have been learning about human life cycles in Science and in History, we talked about family trees.
Please make sure you talk about families at home and if you can, please draw a family tree and supply a photograph of your family.
Lastly, we thank Miss Realmuto for completing her Work Experience in Oak Class this week. She has been really helpful and the children loved her support.
Good luck for your examinations and your future.
We hope to see some of you at the Fun Run on Sunday! Happy weekend.
