Archery was the main activity today where the children were expertly coached on how to use a bow and arrow safely. After their initial instruction, the children had a chance to compete against each other and try out their new skills. It was a new sport for many and a chance to try out something totally new – which is what the residential is all about.
In addition to archery, the children were also working physically at activities such as Jacob’s Ladder and Vertical Challenge, as well as working mentally at Problem Solving. Most sessions at PGL involve an element of team work and assistance, which was particularly the case on Jacob’s Ladder. The staff have been greatly impressed by how well the children work together and help each other.
This evening we prepare for our last sleep here on the Isle of Wight; some have started to pack away their things and thoughts turn to home. First, however, the disco (the children all look fabulous!) and our last activities tomorrow morning. We will keep parents posted as to our progress home.
