Last week, our school community gathered for a beautiful assembly to mark the beginning of Advent. Together, we decorated our Christmas trees on both sites, filling them with colour, symbols and hope as we prepare our hearts for the coming of Jesus.
During the assembly, we listened to the story of Advent—starting right from the very beginning of creation. We learned how God’s love has been part of our story since the dawn of time, and we heard some wonderful legends about why we have Christmas trees and why we decorate them with lights and ornaments. These stories helped us remember that every sign of Christmas points us towards Jesus, the Light of the World.
Our Pupil Chaplaincy Team played an important role throughout the assembly. They helped lead us in prayer, supported the decorating of the tree, and guided us in thinking about how we can prepare for Jesus during this special season.
As we journey through Advent, we are reminded to slow down, be kind, and make room for Jesus in our hearts.
