What an exciting week our Year 6 children are having at school!
We shared our interests and created animated PowerPoints about these. Then, we used our fantastic imaginations to build dens from classroom furniture and materials, including different rooms, carpets, stationery corners, doorways, costumes and the ‘rubber of truth’!
We looked at a variety of picture books and identified common themes in books for young children. We used these to inspire us to write our own books for children in the early years.
Making different designs of paper planes, helped us to learn about forces, such as lift, thrust, drag and gravity. We flew them to see which went the furthest.
Working together to weigh and prepare ingredients, we made Rocky Road. It was delicious!
We also learned about the artist David Hockney and the colourful landscapes he created, then used these to create our own wonderful paintings.
