We hope you all had a blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year. It has been wonderful to welcome the children back to school, and we are pleased to say they have settled back into their routines very quickly. They have returned with lots of enthusiasm and are ready for another exciting term of learning.
We began our first week back by learning about the Epiphany. The children enjoyed listening to the story of the Three Kings and learning about their journey to Bethlehem to give gifts to baby Jesus. As part of this learning, the children created beautiful watercolour paintings of the Three Kings travelling under the guiding star. They showed great focus and creativity while exploring this new painting technique.
Our topic for this half term is Poles Apart. We have started reading the story Poles Apart and are learning all about the North Pole and the South Pole. The children are discovering where the poles are in the world, the differences between them, and the animals that live there. We made penguins to represent the South Pole and polar bears for the North Pole, which the children thoroughly enjoyed.
We are very proud of how well the children have settled back into school life and look forward to a busy and exciting half term ahead.
