We started the new half term in maths with some fun maths games. The children have been learning about mental strategies for addition and subtraction in their lessons. We played a subtraction game called ‘Zero the Hero’ this week. In this game children have a deck of cards. They play it in pairs and each player is given a three-digit number. Each player takes a card from the pack and choses to take it away from either the hundred’s, tens or one’s column of their three-digit number. The first person to reach zero in each of their three columns is the winner. The children had great fun playing this game!
