Today we experimented with making our own paints using natural materials. We used spices such as cinnamon, turmeric and paprika mixed with flour and water to create homemade paints which we used to create prehistoric art. Our current art topic is focussed on prehistoric art and we have been trying to emulate how stone age people would use colours that were derived from natural materials found in the environment to create their art work. We found that working with charcoal and these naturally derived colours can produce effective artwork.
