At the beginning of the week, Father John came to talk to the children in Year 4 about preparing for the celebration of Jesus being born.

We started to add pictures to our class ‘Jesse Trees’. The pictures help us to reflect on the ancestors of Jesus and important stories from the Bible.

Both classes took part in ‘Celebration of the Word time, led by the children.

The children learnt about the ‘Feast of Christ the King’ and found out that this is celebrated on the last Sunday before Advent begins. We thought about why Jesus is such an important king and designed posters to celebrate Jesus as King.

The children have also been finding out about where in the world different foods come from and showing this, using maps and atlases. The children talked about how important it is that food is shared with everyone fairly.

The children have also been enjoying playing outside in the icy weather this week and were fascinated by finding ice that still hadn’t melted at break time.

This week we also celebrated some more children receiving their pen licences – well done to everyone in Year 4 who now have beautiful, neat, cursive handwriting!
