Today, our hall was an ocean of blue as St Paul’s House celebrated their patron saint’s feast-day. Year 5 and 6 pupils led us in readings, Scripture, prayer and worship songs as we learnt about the life of St Paul and why he is an inspiration to us all. Father John spoke to us about how we can all ask Jesus’ help to be more like St Paul every day. Even though Saul set out to persecute Christians and did many wrong things, Jesus changed his heart on the road to Damascus. With his new name of Paul, he set out on his travels and founded churches, spreading the good news of God’s love wherever he went. St Paul survived beatings, shipwrecks and imprisonment, but he never gave up!
We pray that we may all learn to be more like St Paul in his determination and his faith.
At the end of the service, everyone in St Paul’s House enjoyed an ice-lolly and a special play time together. We were impressed with Father John’s football skills! It was a lovely occasion. Well done to everyone in St Paul’s!
