Today, our hall was a sea of red as St Peter’s House celebrated their patron saint’s feast-day. Year 6 pupils led us in readings, Scripture, prayer and worship songs as we learnt about the life of St Peter and why he is an inspiration to us all. Even though St Peter made many mistakes, got angry and let his friends down, he was able to be forgiven and make a fresh start. Jesus gave him a new name, sent him the gift of the Holy Spirit, and trusted St Peter to be the founder of His Church and the holder of the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven.
We pray that we may all learn to be more like St Peter in his humility and his willingness to serve and trust God.
At the end of the service, everyone in St Peter’s House had a much-needed ice-lolly and some time to play together. It was a lovely occasion. Well done to everyone in St Peter’s!
