Year 4 Rapid Fire Cricket Tournament

This week, a group of our Year 4 pupils proudly represented our school at the Rapid Fire Cricket Tournament held at Beaumont School. The team played six matches in total, demonstrating great teamwork, determination and sportsmanship throughout the competition.
We are delighted to share that they finished 4th overall — a fantastic achievement against strong opposition. Even more importantly, they conducted themselves brilliantly, showing respect and encouragement both on and off the pitch.
Well done to all of the pupils involved for your hard work, enthusiasm and excellent representation of our school. We are very proud of you!
Athletics Tournament

A number of our students took part in the school’s Athletics Tournament held at Oaklands College — and what an unforgettable experience it proved to be.
The event was hosted by the Schools Sports Partnership and supported by young student athletes from Oaklands, who were fantastic role models throughout the day. Their leadership, encouragement and professionalism set the tone for a brilliant competition. Our students were also given the exciting opportunity to meet some of the up-and-coming GB athletics stars of the future. They spoke brilliantly about what hard work, resilience and teamwork can achieve — both in sport and in life — delivering a truly inspiring message to everyone in attendance.
Across a wide range of track and field events, our students gave their very best effort. From sprints to distance races, jumps to throws, the determination and positivity on display were outstanding. It was a fantastic day for all involved, and every student should be incredibly proud of their performance and attitude. Well done to everyone!
Schools Cup V Samuel Ryder
Result : 2-0

We made the short journey to Samuel Ryder School for what had been a long-awaited and eagerly anticipated cup tie — and from the first whistle, it did not disappoint. The boys started with intensity and purpose, taking firm control of the game and dictating the tempo. However, Samuel Ryder showed real threat on the counter-attack, reminding us at every opportunity that this was going to be a battle. Despite our dominance, we found it difficult to break down a stubborn and well-organised defence.
Just when it looked like we would go into the break frustrated, the breakthrough arrived at the perfect moment. On the stroke of half-time, S reacted quickest in the box, stretching to get his foot to the ball and forcing it over the line. A huge goal at a crucial time — and a thoroughly deserved lead going into half-time.
The second half was a different story. Samuel Ryder came out all guns blazing, throwing everything forward in search of an equaliser. Wave after wave of pressure tested our resolve, but the boys stood tall. Our goalkeeper produced a string of outstanding saves, and the defence put their bodies on the line with brave, determined defending. It was a true display of character and resilience.
As the opposition committed more and more players forward, spaces began to open. With just eight minutes remaining, we struck. A lightning-quick counter-attack, finished with a superb one-touch move, carved them open — and C applied the finishing touch, calmly slotting the ball home to seal the tie. Even then, Samuel Ryder refused to give in, fighting right until the final whistle in a contest that demanded everything from both sides.
When the whistle finally blew, it was celebration time. Into the hat for the last 16 — a fantastic achievement and one the boys should be incredibly proud of. Cup football. Drama. Character. Togetherness.
On we go.
