It has been a very busy and fun two weeks in Year 5.
“Last Tuesday, we had the pleasure of visiting the London Eye. First we walked to the St Albans station, where we took a train to Blackfriars Station, where we looked out on the whole of London. After that, we walked to a spot not far from the London Eye where we had a snack and a break. Then we walked past the London Eye onto a little boat station, where we took a tour of London through the Thames on a boat, with lots of facts around us. Finally, we went on the London Eye for half an hour, which was a pretty cool first time for people” – Jack B
“This Thursday, we had the chance to go to visit Nicholas Breakspear. When we got there, we all did Science and learnt about adaptations, where we played a fun game where we chose 5 adaptations that were best for a mammal. Then we did English where we learnt about adjectives. Finally we all did some PE games before heading back to school. It was a very fun day”. Florence G
Visiting Nicholas Breakspear was a great opportunity for the students to gain an insight into their future. They all behaved wonderfully and set an excellent example for SSAS.
Lastly on Friday, we had our annual Sports Day. This was sadly Mr Wallace’s last sports day, but we definitely made him proud by putting into practise all the skills we’ve been learning. We got to do shot put, javelin, 60m sprint races, relay races, egg and spoon races, tug of war and sack races. Congratulations to St Paul, who won the overall competition, but most importantly well done to everybody who took part and tried their best in every activity.
Have a lovely weekend,
Year 5 Team
