We’ve had a fantastic start to the term in nursery, welcome everyone!
We are all busy learning our new routines and joining in really well.
In RE we have been learning that God loves us all. We created our own piece of artwork showing that God loves us to pieces. We had to use our fine motor skills to rip up pieces of tissue paper and stick them onto our love heart. Look at our amazing creations.
We started learning all about the Creation Story and explored the animals that God made. We learnt how important it is to look after our wonderful world. We practised recycling together and were brilliant at sorting different materials. We would all love to help recycle at home!
In maths we have been exploring numbers 1 – 5, counting them on our fingers, ordering them and finding the missing number.
In phonics we have started Phase 1 where we have been listening to nursery rhymes. So far we have joined in with Humpty Dumpty, Jack and Jill and Ba Ba Black Sheep. We all enjoyed acting and dancing to the nursery rhymes.
Our focus text in literacy is ‘Once there were Giants’ by Martin Waddell. We all listened carefully to the story and have been talking about the main character, the baby who grows up in the book. We started to look at ordering the different stages of life and think about what we want to be when we get older. We wanted to be builders, ballerinas, ambulance drivers and firefighters.
