We began the Advent season in Year 1 this week, the children have been learning all about the first week of Advent and how Christians prepare for the arrival of Jesus.
We’ve been exploring the themes of hope and joyful expectation, and the class has really embraced the meaning behind this special time of year.
The children have been busy creating their own Advent promises, each child wrote a promise that they wanted to achieve during Advent.

The children also wrote beautiful prayers to Jesus and carefully placed them on our class prayer table.

This week, we were lucky enough to attend a lovely Advent assembly led by Ms. Hackett and our Pupil Chaplaincy.
The children learned the significance of Advent and the Christmas season, while the older children dressed the Christmas Tree.

Our classrooms are looking extra festive too. Our Christmas trees are now sparkling with lights and decorations, which were carefully placed on the tree by each child.

We have also continued to practise our nativity songs for our production next week.
We hope you have booked your spaces for the KS1 Nativity on either Thursday afternoon or Friday morning. We look forward to seeing you there.
