The whole school looked at the Sikhism faith this week.
Our first R.E. lesson in Year 1 was learning about Guru Nanak, who was an Indian spiritual teacher, mystic and poet, who is regarded as the founder of Sikhism and is the first of the ten Sikh Gurus.
We went outside in our beautiful outside space and reflected on what Sikhs believe, that God created the universe and that humans were put on Earth to care for God’s creation; we all thought that this was very similar to our Christian belief.
We reflected on how we could show care for God’s creation and went back into class to complete our work.
I think you will agree that the children have created some beautiful illustrations.
The week ended with our KS1 Sports Day!
The children absolutely loved the races and cheered their Saint Houses on. There was great team spirit!!!
The winners were Saint Bernadette’s House. Congratulations.
Here are just a few photographs that captured the great day.
We wish all our families a very happy and restful weekend.
