The children have been introduced to all the new topics for this half term:
In R.E. our new topic is Prophecy and Promise. The focus of this topic is for pupils to develop an early understanding of the Christian belief that God showed us the full depth of his love by sending Jesus his Son. We read from the New Testament, Luke’s Gospel about the Good News of Jesus’ coming.

Angel Gabriel appeared to Mary and she was asked to have a baby and call Him, Jesus! This is known as the annunciation!

In English, our new book is called Look Up. The story is about a young girl who is inspired by Mae Jemison, the first African-American woman in space. We have already created flyers, using imperative verbs and a Space fact poster, which includes some of the facts we have already learnt about the planets and the solar system.

In History, we have been introduced to the Space Race – who will launch into space first?!?!

In Art, we have learnt about line drawing – straight, diagonal, repeated, squiggly, zig-zag, etc.

In Science, we have learnt about deciduous and evergreen trees. We can already tell you some amazing facts!

We obviously continue to have Phonics lessons every day, reading practice, Computing, P.E., Music, P.S.H.E., Handwriting, Library visits, and assemblies.

So, in five days a lot has been learnt at school.
We wish you all a very happy and healthy weekend. Get your Odd Socks ready for Wednesday – as we celebrate Anti-bullying week next week 🧦
