To bring our Science and Geography learning to life, we visited Clarence Park this week.
For Science, we used our senses to observe our surroundings; this included listening for traffic while we walked to the park, as well as hearing birds singing and children chatting.
We also observed the signs of Autumn, with the changing colours of the leaves and conkers and acorns that had fallen to the ground.
We also saw lots of different trees in the park and we looked at the different shapes of leaves to identify them. This is a Year 1 skill, to be able to identify British trees.
For Geography this half term, we have been studying maps of our local area. We have also created maps of the walk we would have to make to Clarence park.
So, our map drawing came in useful for navigating to the park. After we had been working so hard, we all enjoyed playing in the Playground.
Thank you to our parent volunteers for joining us, you made the trip possible.
Continue to enjoy the signs of Autumn this weekend.
