On Thursday, Year 3 had an exciting trip to Celtic Harmony, an outdoor education centre all about life in prehistoric Britain.
As soon as we arrived, the children were fully immersed in the experience. We explored an Iron Age settlement, complete with traditional roundhouses, and took part in a range of hands-on activities. There was great excitement as we “hunted” prehistoric animals (don’t worry, no real animals were harmed!), built woodland dens and even had a go at foraging.
One of the highlights was learning how people in the Stone Age made tools by flint knapping and how they used a bow drill to start a fire.
Despite the warm weather, the children were fantastic and gave everything a go. It was a wonderful opportunity to consolidate our learning about Prehistoric Britain in a fun, active and memorable way.
A huge thank you to the parents who came along to support the trip, we couldn’t have done it without you!
