We’ve been very busy in year 4 this week:
In Art, we have been looking at the work of an Indian artist called Raza. He created beautiful artwork using bright colours, shapes and patterns.
We worked collaboratively to create our own artwork inspired by Raza. Each child created a small square. When we put all the squares together, the result was amazing! It reminded us of our school value of ‘Unity’ and how important it is to work together.
In Computing we began a new topic called ‘Computational thinking’. We learnt about how computers use decomposition and breaking instructions into smaller steps. We played a game with our learning partner to describe in detail an alien that we had drawn. We had to break the task into small steps and give really clear instructions.
We also had our child led celebration of the word outside in the prayer garden this week.
In science we extended our classifying and sorting skills to trees and their leaves this week. We spent an enjoyable time in the school grounds identify trees and their leaves and then taking them back to the classroom to sort and classify them using a classification key.
