On Monday, Year 5 had an exciting afternoon exploring Shakespeare’s Macbeth through hands-on activities and performances. The children enthusiastically took on key roles and joined performers from the Young Shakespeare Company to act out memorable scenes, practicing the rhythm and language of Shakespeare’s text. As they performed, the class paused to discuss the play’s themes, such as ambition and moral choices, and to reflect on the thoughts and feelings of key characters at different points in the story. By the end of the workshop, the children had a deeper understanding of Macbeth and felt more confident in expressing themselves through drama and performance. We are now looking forward to studying the play in more detail in class. A special thank you to all the parents for their generous contributions, which made this creative experience possible.
