Report from Mr Byrne, Sports Coach
On Wednesday, a team of Year 5 girls attended the Tag Rugby Festival at Old Verulamiums Rugby Club, organised by the Schools Games Partnership.
The day began with a briefing on the rules and activities, before the girls, supported by secondary school sports leaders, took part in a carousel of fun and engaging skill-based sessions. They threw themselves into every challenge and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
After a quick snack, the girls went on to compete against five other schools. With each match, their game knowledge grew, their skills sharpened, and their teamwork and camaraderie shone through—helped along by some top-class cheerleading from the sidelines!
Their efforts paid off as they finished the competition unbeaten, winning four games and drawing one—an outstanding achievement they were rightly very proud of.
Most importantly, the girls represented themselves and the school superbly both on and off the pitch.
A huge well done to all the girls for their fantastic performance!
