This week, Maple Class were lucky to welcome Fr Michael as we begin our new RE unit, Prophecy and Promise. We explored the prophets of the Old Testament, focusing on David and how he went from a simple shepherd to a king, caring for people as he once cared for his sheep.
Fr Michael shared a reading from Matthew 1:1–17, tracing Jesus’ genealogy from Abraham and highlighting key ancestors like David, Tamar and Rahab. We were fascinated to learn that there are 42 generations connecting Abraham to Jesus, showing how God’s promises were fulfilled over time.
