We can scarcely believe how quickly this week has flown by! The children have settled in wonderfully, and it’s been full steam ahead with our learning.
In English, we have been refining our writing by practising time adverbials and exploring the many meanings of homophones. Over in Maths, our focus has been on place value, building confidence in working with and understanding larger numbers. In Science, we’ve investigated changing states, learning about the fascinating properties of gases, liquids, and solids.
Our History topic has taken us back in time to Roman St Albans. It has been inspiring to discover how the Romans shaped not only Britain as a whole but also the very place we call home today. In RE, our theme of hope led us to reflect on the transformation of Zacchaeus’s life after meeting Jesus. We brought this learning to life on Friday with a collaborative art project, and we are all excited to see the finished piece on display.
In PE, the children have been developing their ball skills, showing fantastic teamwork, coordination, and determination.
Throughout the week, Year 4 have displayed great curiosity, asked thoughtful questions, and shared brilliant ideas. It has been a joy to see them working so well together and showing such enthusiasm for their learning.
We are incredibly proud of their efforts and can’t wait to see what new adventures await us next week!
