Another week has flown by in Year 2, and what a wonderful week it’s been — bursting with creativity, curiosity, and thoughtful exploration.
In English, we’ve plunged into the fascinating world of sharks as the children began planning and drafting their very own non-chronological reports. Their independent writing has been truly impressive, and their enthusiasm for researching and organising information has shone through. We can’t wait to share their fin-tastic final pieces with you next week!
In Maths, we’ve been strengthening our multiplication skills, with the highlight being our one-hour multiplication challenge. The children rose to the occasion with remarkable focus and determination, tackling a wide range of problems quietly and diligently. We’re so proud of their perseverance and resilience. On a related note, please find a link below if you’d like to learn more about Bright, English Medium School in Tanzania – the worthwhile charity behind the challenge.
In Science, we began an exciting new topic by planting seeds and setting the stage for weeks of observation and discovery. The children were filled with curiosity and anticipation, and we’re all eager to watch their plants grow and flourish.
In RE, our learning turned to Pentecost — a powerful and meaningful event in the Christian calendar. We explored the story of the Holy Spirit’s arrival and considered how it continues to inspire and guide people today. The children engaged in these reflections with maturity and insight, showing a deepening understanding of faith and its role in the lives of believers.
All in all, it’s been a joyful and enriching week of learning. We are incredibly proud of the children’s efforts and enthusiasm and look forward to the adventures that next week will bring.
Wishing you all a restful and happy weekend.
