And just like that – another busy, fun week draws to an end!
In RE, we’ve continued to learn from Abraham’s example, marvelling at and being inspired by his faith, hope, and trust in God, as well as his immense love for Him. The children have reflected beautifully on what it means to show faith and trust in their own lives.
In English, our inspiration has been Angela McAllister’s delightful book Leon and the Place Between. The children have truly captured the magic of the circus, coming up with some wonderfully descriptive phrases that bring Leon’s world of wonder and illusion to life.
Maths has taken us to the next strategy for adding and subtracting larger numbers, and the children are growing in confidence as they apply their knowledge to increasingly tricky challenges.
In Science, we’ve been amazed by the water cycle, watching how water moves through its journey of evaporation, condensation, and precipitation has been fascinating! Meanwhile, in History, we’ve been equally impressed learning about the incredible technology the Romans used to build such strong and lasting roads, over 2000 years ago!
Our Design and Technology topic came to a creative conclusion this week with reports on our catapult-making projects. The children have worked brilliantly to design, build, and test their models, showing great teamwork and problem-solving skills. In Art, we begin our exciting new topic on mosaics, drawing inspiration once again from the Romans and their intricate designs.
PE and Music continue to be firm favourites, with energy, rhythm, and enthusiasm shining through every session!
Finally, we have been wowed by the homework the children have produced. From beautifully detailed family trees, some tracing back over 100 years, to impressive PowerPoint presentations, our Year 2s have shown curiosity and creativity.
We wish you all a wonderful weekend and look forward to welcoming the children back on Monday for another week of learning and adventure!
